Hi, I’m Maria, and welcome to my blog. I was born in 1970 and I’ve lived in Birkirkara, Malta, all my life. This place has always been home to me, and I can’t imagine living anywhere else.
I’ve always loved reading, but over the past few years books have become even more important. After my husband passed away, they turned into real companions for me. A good story can keep me company, make me laugh, or simply take me somewhere else for a while.
I mostly read fiction-romance, mystery, history, and sometimes just whatever catches my eye. And if a book happens to mention Malta, I’m immediately curious.
What I (also) love to do
When I’m not reading, I’m usually in the kitchen. I’ve been baking pies for years, and my friends swear my apple pie is the best (I think they just like the excuse to come over and eat it!). I also enjoy a quiet afternoon with a cup of tea, usually with another book not far from reach.
I started this blog simply to share the books I read and what I think about them. A review. Nothing fancy, just my honest thoughts as someone who loves stories. If you’re here, I hope you find something interesting-and if you have a good recommendation, especially one with a Maltese twist, I’d love to hear it.
